According to The Sunday Telegraph (27th June) in the four weeks since Gordon Brown became Prime Minister the R.A.F. were ordered to drop more bombs in Iraq than in the previous three years. The Observer reports that British troops have called in hundreds of U.S. airstrikes in Afghanistan in recent months. There are now at least 170,000 unaccountable mercenaries operating in Iraq. And a U.Gov poll published in The Sunday Times (13th August) found that 65% of British people wanted their soldiers pulled out of Afghanistan within the year and 74% wanted the soldiers out of Iraq in the same timeframe.
