This website and others like it aim to provide as much detailed information as possible about the situation of unlawful detention in Guantanamo Bay and other prisons like it around the world operated by the US government, and tacitly supported by others.
However, just providing information about these appalling circumstances of injustice is not enough. This is why we are asking you to help in any way that you can to create a fairer and more just world where people are not imprisoned indefinitely, subjected to torture, denied the right to defend their case, and have their final act of desperation dismissed and dehumanised as "a PR stunt".
The information in this section provides opportunities for you to make a difference, to become part of a global fight for justice, and to make history itself instead of watching it unfold.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the
world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has".

"People kidnapped by the US are being shuttled around the world for interrogation, often to places where torture is practiced – and the US administration doesn’t deny it. This is called extraordinary rendition”
A report by Council of Europe rapporteur Dick Marty says European governments including Britain are complicit in these abuses.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will be debating the report on 27th June. Join our vigils to demand action to put a stop to the CIA’s torture flights. Peaceful vigils are planned around the UK and Ireland.

Please write to your MP and ask the British government to take action
to close down Guantanamo and ask for an independent investigation into
the deaths of these men.
A draft letter has been provided
below, however your letter will have more impact if it is written
yourself so this draft could be used as a general template.
Sending
the letter is very easy, a website is provided below where you can find
out who your MP is from your postcode and submit your letter
electronically, it will then be faxed to your MP. The website providing
this free service collects statistics on how good or bad MPs are at
replying to their constituents which gives them a good incentive to
reply to you.
