SAVE SHAKER AAMER - RELEASE HIM NOW 8th ANNIVERSARY OF SHAKER'S DETENTION IN GUANTANAMO MAKE YOUR PROTEST ASSEMBLE opposite 10 Downing Street Saturday Feb 6th from 12 noon to 2pm Dress: Orange jumpsuit or wear orange if possible
.... to mark the 8th year anniversary of Shaker Aamer's detention in Guantanamo. Shaker has suffered greatly in this brutal concentration camp and previously at Kandahar and Bagram, and those in the US administration and UK government should hang their heads in shame. A great injustice has been done - Shaker, a Battersea resident, needs to be set free to join his family again. COME JOIN SHAKER's FAMILY, MPs, LAWYERS, HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGNERS, and many others - many representatives from organisations and institutions both local and national will be there. SSAC enjoys the support of many organisations including Stop the War Coalition, London Guantanamo Campaign, Cageprisoners, Reprieve, Amnesty International. On the 6th FEB EVERYBODY should be there in Downing street ready to raise our voices again - SSAC says we need all of you to bring placards, posters and your loud voices, and for all to wear orange boiler suits or dress in orange if possible. Shaker is the last British Resident still detained in Guantanamo. He is the most long-standing victim of our Government's complicity in torture. Foreign Secretary David Miliband has ignored SSAC's and local MP Martin Linton's request for a meeting with him. Please make sure you are there at 12 noon Downing Street on the 6th FEB, come AND BRING ALL YOUR CONTACTS, FRIENDS, WORKMATES, NEIGHBOURS |
